ANNIE HASLAM isn't the same songbird extraordinaire at 70+ that she was 47 (!) years ago, but (BUT!) her 21st Century voice - as evidenced here - is STILL positively RAPTUROUS (!)... and today's throwaway pop singers with only one name would slit their own throats if they were ever to hear Annie sing "Ashes are Burning."
I unhesitatingly give the masterpiece at hand my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

OMG! A rare moment where the second album comes out stronger than the first, considering the class of her debut. This album is soulful, transparent, rooted in the earth and flying with the winds at all the same time. A rare gem of musical genius and yet another spiritual journey from Sona Jobarteh and her stellar ensemble of musicians. Tim Heiler
